For Your Special Attention: Wage and Hour Law Primer
June 15, 2010
All U.S. operator members of the National Limousine Association are encouraged to consult the “Wage and Hour Law Primer for the Chauffeured Transportation Industry” prepared by NLA general counsel Keller and Heckman LLP in Washington D.C. The primer, which is posted under “News” on the home page of www.limo.org, is a guide intended to provide basic information about the general requirements of federal wage and hour laws and the responsibility of employers to properly classify workers. The National Limousine Association recommends operators always consult with their own attorneys knowledgeable in employment law when making any business decisions. Your Charitable Suggestions Are Welcome

To assist the decision making about this year’s charitable gifts from the National Limousine Association’s philanthropic arm, the Harold Berkman Memorial Fund, members are invited to submit their recommendations for 2010 Berkman Fund beneficiaries to the NLA office by July 1. The NLA Board of Directors will consider each suggestion that is received. Each year the NLA makes donations to a variety of charities. In 2009, recipients included Air Charity Network/Angel Flight, Alliance for Lupus Research and the Fisher House Foundation. Attend 2010 LCT Leadership Summit on September 28-30 in Chicago

The Summit is back! LCT Magazine recently announced the 2010 LCT Leadership Summit will be held on September 28-30 at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park Hotel in Chicago. In its eighth year, the Summit has been the industry’s only intimate forum that focuses exclusively on the changing trends of the chauffeured transportation industry. As a bonus, a special guided tour of the BusCon Expo, being held on the same dates at Chicago’s famous Navy Pier, will be included for Summit attendees. See www.lctsummit.com for program details and registration information. Hey Bikers! Your Sturgis Trip Can Raise Funds for Charity
