Driven to Empower Awards Program

Recognizing women who strengthen our industry and community

The Driven to Empower Awards recognize women within the chauffeured transportation industry who are making a meaningful difference through leadership, service, innovation, mentorship, and professional excellence. The awards are peer-nominated and designed to highlight individuals whose contributions positively impact their companies, colleagues, communities, and the industry as a whole.

Nominations Open on October 27, 2026

Help us recognize the women who strengthen our industry through leadership, mentorship, service, and innovation. Eligible nominees must work for a chauffeured transportation operator, but nominations can come from anyone who has witnessed their impact, including vendors, affiliates, clients, peers, and industry colleagues. NLA membership is not required. We encourage nominations of women whose leadership creates a positive ripple effect within their companies, communities, and the industry.

The innaugural Driven to Empower Awards will be presented at the 2027 CD/NLA Vegas Show during the Women In The Industry event.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nominations may be submitted by anyone within or connected to the industry.
  • Nominees must work for a chauffeured transportation operator company.
  • NLA membership is not required for nomination consideration.
  • Optional supporting materials may include testimonials, letters of recommendation, awards, photos, or examples of community and industry involvement. – Include in each award nomination.
  • Please provide thoughtful and detailed responses throughout the nomination form. Strong nominations include specific examples, stories, accomplishments, and insight into the nominee’s impact on their company, colleagues, community, and the industry. Brief or generic responses may not provide the judging panel with enough information to fully evaluate the nominee.

Driven to Empower Award Categories

Meaningful impact isn’t limited to a title. From dedicated staff members and behind-the-scenes professionals to emerging leaders and industry executives, women play an essential role in the success of their companies. The three award categories below recognize outstanding individuals at different stages of their careers and leadership journeys.

All nominations will need the nominee name, company, title/role, along with the nominator name, company, and how long you worked with the nominee. Nominations will be an essay format in addition to covering category-specific questions.

Visionary Leadership Award

Recognizes an established leader whose influence has shaped her company, the industry, and those around her through leadership, innovation, mentorship, integrity, and service.

  • What makes this individual’s leadership style effective or impactful? Please focus on leadership qualities rather than personality traits.
  • Describe a specific initiative, decision, or accomplishment that had a measurable impact on their company or organization. Examples may include growth, culture, operations, innovation, client experience, or team development.
  • How has this individual contributed to or influenced the chauffeured transportation industry outside of their own company? Examples may include association involvement, committee work, speaking, mentoring, advocacy, or industry collaboration.
  • Describe a time when this individual demonstrated exceptional leadership during a challenge, transition, or difficult situation. Please provide a specific example.
  • In what ways has this individual positively impacted others within their company, community, or the industry as a whole?

Emerging Leader Award

Recognizes an individual whose leadership presence, professional growth, and increasing influence are helping shape the future of their company and the chauffeured transportation industry. Nominees may be newer to leadership roles, growing a business, expanding their industry involvement, or demonstrating exceptional momentum in their career and contributions.

  • What accomplishments, contributions, or career growth have helped this individual stand out in recent years? Examples may include business growth, leadership responsibilities, new initiatives, or increased industry involvement.
  • How has this individual demonstrated leadership, initiative, or professional growth within their company, their community, or the industry? Please include specific examples.
  • Describe how this individual’s influence or involvement has positively impacted others, their organization, or the industry overall. Examples may include mentoring, team development, collaboration, or industry engagement.
  • What efforts has this individual made to become more engaged within the industry? Examples may include events, committees, networking, mentorship, advocacy, or volunteering.
  • What makes this individual someone to watch as an emerging leader or growing influence within the industry. Please provide detailed examples and insight that clearly demonstrate why this individual stands out and what potential you see for their future impact on the industry.

Heart of the Industry Award

Recognizes a staff member or behind-the-scenes professional who consistently goes above and beyond to support others, strengthen their team, and positively represent the industry through dedication, professionalism, and service.

  • In what ways does this individual consistently go above and beyond their job responsibilities? Examples may include supporting coworkers, assisting clients, mentoring others, or stepping up during challenges.
  • How does this person positively impact their coworkers, clients, or company culture on a day-to-day basis? Please provide specific examples.
  • Describe a specific moment or example that reflects this individual’s dedication, professionalism, or willingness to help others. We encourage detailed stories or examples.
  • How does this individual demonstrate leadership or influence, even if they are not in a formal leadership position? Examples may include setting a positive example, supporting team morale, or helping others succeed.
  • What makes this individual especially deserving of recognition within the industry?
  • Please provide a thoughtful and detailed response that clearly explains this individual’s impact, character, and contributions.

The Judging Process

Operators within the chauffeured transportation industry. If a judge is nominated, an alternate will be step in. Additionally, these individuals cannot be members of the WLC or Advisory Board.

A total of four members of the NLA and CD staff will also review nominations and scores will be averaged.

Finally, a third-party who is outside of or no longer in the chauffeured transportation industry will also review nominations.
